October Blues
24 Oct
I went to Google to search “most stressful month” and found conflicting results just on the first page. According to an article in the Chicago-Tribune, January, June and September are most stressful because of deaths, divorce, school and summer vacations. Two of those things are on my list of favorite things ever and September happens to be the month when I celebrate my birth so I remain skeptical. I also happen to think – and starting to feel – that October not only shakes all the leaves off the trees but is also the beginning of the end in terms of one’s mental wellbeing. You have holiday celebrations to prepare for, family reunions creeping up on you, work gatherings and end-of-year reports to put together….. but my specific case in point – Halloween.
I have been thinking about what my costume will be and cannot for the life of me think of anything I want to be that accomplishes two very important tasks simultaneously: hilarity and greatness. Last year my roommate and I went to Boysville and found the most perfect vests I have ever laid eyes on. We were Aladdin and Abu that year. And if you knew even a little bit about her or me, you could understand how legendary* that was. The good news is… once I take care of Halloween business, I will feel like I earned my turkey and presents before the end of the year. Motivation is the key.
Speaking of legendary… check out my man Gary LaPierre. Although it may not come as a surprise to some of you, I had no idea who he was before i visited the website for a little work research and now he is one of my role models. To be listed under de subtitle of legend is to have lived a great life.
